Nicole graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word in May 2016 with a biology major and a minor in theology. She is certified as a National Contact Lens Examiner, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, and by the American Board of Opticians. A native of the state of Washington, she enjoys exploring the state of Texas with her husband. She will go to optometry school in the very near future.
Awista Nawim recently graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a major in biochemistry and a minor in math and physics. She will go back to school to get a masters and eventually medical school.
Cristina moved to Texas to be with and help her aging parents transition into retirement. She was fortunate to be raised in the diverse and ever-changing city of San Francisco. Growing up in San Francisco opened her to a lifetime of adaptation, open-mindedness, acceptance of people and things that make us all individuals. She lived in California’s capital city of Sacramento, where she began her journey in the optical world. She is of Central American heritage and bilingual, being fluent in Spanish. She looks forward to the new adventures that life in Texas will bring her.
Joshua stands ready to help you with your questions about glasses and lenses. He works part time while studying English at UTSA and serving as a youth leader at his church. Still undecided, he is thinking about a career in teaching English at the university level vs other exciting career options.
